For students to explore potential opportunities that aviation has to offer. Exposing students to many career opportunities in aviation.

Mission

The aviation club will teach students about flying with interactive lessons with ELA, math, science, and social studies standards, flight simulators, field trips, and guest speakers.

This club is open to 6-8th graders who have any interest in aviation. We will learn about being a pilot, air traffic controller, mechanic, and working on the ground with aircraft. The club will meet every Friday in C-12 of Centennial Middle School. The club will meet from 3:10-4:30PM. Any questions, contact David Panther at dpanther@kyrene.org.

Choir Club aims to supplement the experience of choir students through offering extracurricular choir opportunities. These can range from exciting performance opportunities to participation in State Honor Choirs.  More information to come.

The Creative Writing Club aims to provide a space where students can explore various forms of writing such as short form fiction, poetry, and creative non-fiction. Students will practice giving and receiving feedback on writing through peer workshops. Provided there is enough interest, club members may also have a chance to perform their stories or poems during a club open mic.

Vision

For students to solve real life problems in different ways and to challenge their problem-solving skills. Exposing them to different strategies to solve various problems. 

Mission

MATHCOUNTS is a national program that test students in mathematics by solving different levels of 6th, 7th, and 8th grade math. They will work together to solve problems and to discuss their strategies. At the beginning of second semester they will have the opportunity to compete against other schools within the district as well as outside of the district. 

The club is open to all 6th, 7th, and 8^th graders. There is a $60 registration fee. Registration can be found at Kyrene Community Education MATHCOUNTS registration page

Financial Assistance is available as well. Registration ends soon. The club meets on 1 or 2 Tuesdays of the month in room B4. Time is from 3:15-4:15 PM. Any questions contact Mr. Lowe at jlowe@kyrene.org

The National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) is a prestigious group recognizing academic excellence, leadership, service, and character in middle school students. The organization inspires personal growth, community engagement, and integrity through activities and service projects, preparing young individuals to positively shape their future and contribute meaningfully to society. Admittance is based on strict guidelines upheld by honor societies.  Students will be invited to join and complete the NJHS application.  NJHS Club is available to 8th grade students only.

**There is a $50 membership fee.**  This fee will help to cover the cost of the National Chapter dues, NJHS volunteer t-shirts and membership fee.

The Student Council is a club where students work together to grow school spirit around campus by planning and executing engaging activities. Members of the Student Council will have opportunities to demonstrate leadership, responsibility, and integrity. Members must be willing to make the year-long commitment of being part of the club, as well as acknowledge the requirement to maintain passing grades without discipline issues. Welcome to Centennial Theatre Club!  Theater club is open to 6^th, 7^th, and 8^th graders who want to expand their theater knowledge through on and off stage opportunities. Theater club puts on after school productions, including a yearly musical. Meeting times change to meet the needs of each production. The Centennial Yearbook Club is back! Members of CMS Yearbook Club are responsible for producing a yearbook for the school to commemorate the previous year's events.  Activities will include taking photos at school events during the school day and after school (games, plays, concerts, dances, etc.). Students will use their own phone cameras and school cameras. Students will also have the opportunity to help choose the yearbook theme, put together pages, write copy, interview students, and create sales promotions.  Open to 7^th & 8^th grade students.  Yearbook will tentatively meet Thursdays, 3:15-4:15.
